2013 Regionals Event #1:
'Jackie'
1000m Row
50 Thrusters (45# - men's bar)
30 Pull Ups
TIME: 7:56
NOTES: I got off the rower at 4:15. My first 500 was slower than my second 500. I could probably go a little faster on the row. I just didn't want to be gased for the rest of the workout. I'm mad at myself for breaking up the thrusters like an idiot. I did 30-10-6-4. When I got to 30 my shoulders were really blown up. I set the bar down for a couple seconds, and picked it up with the intention of doing the next 20 UB. But, I was doing this alone, apart from everyone else in the gym, so my motivation was kind of lacking. I have no idea why I set the bar down with 4 to go. I wasn't even that tired. It was a major brain fart. I got up on the PU bar and cranked out 13 BF Pullups, then I hoped up and only got 2 more butterfly before I switched to kipping. I think I ended up doing sets of 5-3 kipping at the end. I wasn't proud of this time, but I also wasn't totally disappointed.
Rest 45 minutes
2013 Regionals Event #5:
21-15-9 (Time Cap: 8:00)
Dead Lift (205)
Box Jumps (24")
TIME: I only completed through 11 Box jumps...
NOTES: So, today I had my first mental break down in the gym. This WOD got in my head so bad. My DLs felt heavy warming up, and they felt even heavier in the workout. I had to pull singles the entire time. My back blew up so bad. I could barely pick up the bar at the end. Also, when your lower back is on fire, the last thing you want to do is jump up on a 24" box (especially when you're only 62").
I've never been so disappointed/upset/embarrassed/panicked about a workout. But, I'm very lucky to have such a supportive group of people around me. Katie, Briggs, and Andy all knew exactly what to say to keep my head in the game.
Today was just not my day. But, that's OK. I'm sure even Rich Froning has had one bad day (maybe).
Cheers to less than 24hr of law school left!
